Okay, so it isn't her birthday yet (as of this writing), but I had to finish this early so I could submit the tee-shirt version to a contest. It's was WeLoveFine's Hatsune Miku Design Contest 2. Here's the direct link: contest.welovefine.com/vote.ph…

Anyway, now to talk about the drawing its self.

I made a promise to myself that I would draw Miku every year on time for her anniversary, and that I'd do it better each time. I never break my promises. This year she turns seven! They grow up so fast...
I grow up fast too. I mean, my goodness, this is a HUGE step forward from last year's drawing ( the-sky-is-up.deviantart.com/a… ), at least to me it is. I made sure to look over my base sketch carefully this time, to ensure that the anatomy was correct. Also I finally made the hair nice to look at... I drew it curling over it's self, which really improves things. Oh and color gradient plus sparkles equals amazing. I selected the pose because of the fingers. It's a settle thing, but I wanted her to be showing seven fingers (for seven years).
